Technical Game Designer, UI

Funovus is a game development studio based in the United States, with team members around the globe, embracing a remote-working, geo-diverse team and culture. We are looking for people who are ambitious, detail-focused, and have a strong desire to own the creative and technical process of developing fun, innovative, and memorable games.


  • Experience with UI design or related fields
  • Familiarity with Lua or a similar programming/scripting language
  • Familiarity with XML or a similar markup language, as our in-game UI is implemented in XML
  • Passion for games and a strong desire to learn and grow in the industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A team player who can give and receive constructive feedback


  • Experience in designing UI for games or other interactive media
  • Familiarity with game editors such as Unity, UE5, StarCraft 2, or Warcraft 3
  • Understanding of UX principles, typography, and color theory


  • Design, prototype, and implement in-game UI and UX across our live and in-development games that meet our high standards for quality
  • Design and implement UI animations, creating smooth transitions and visual enhancements that contribute to an immersive and enjoyable player experience
  • Work closely with technical designers to gather requirements, provide scripting hooks, and enable seamless integration of game UIs
  • Work with UI artists to create attractive, innovating, and functional user experiences
  • Serve as a player advocate to ensure usability, playability, and visual excitement


Our games are developed by small, nimble teams with a focus on rapid iteration and reaching a wide audience. With the support of our powerful game editing tools and experienced production team, our games often reach millions of players within one year of launch.

Location: Redwood City, California (Relocation support will be provided)
